I learned a lot about programs I can’t afford. Also, I got into a learning program I couldn’t afford. Yet somehow when you’re a kid everyone tells you to follow your dreams. Dreams are costly and to a lot of people you are meant to be miserable your whole life. This should not put people off of following what they desire the most, but a focused and planned approach could help avoid some hardship. Had I met people like Carl Sagan or Neil Tyson in my childhood perhaps things would be vastly different. Instead I had to deal with bullies and a society that cares little for science and education. I was born in Puerto Rico but, I am not bound to this island that has turned its back on those who sacrifice themselves studying for a better future.
